Lucky Stories - Kortni Jeane
You don’t have to be Irish to be lucky! But St. Patrick’s day gave us the perfect excuse to ask all of you about those times that you miraculously found good fortune in your life. Whether you reunited with a long-lost loved one, avoided tragedy, or stumbled on treasures, we wanted to hear about it! As luck would have it, you delivered! Go ahead and dive into these true stories that celebrate luck, coincidence, and the joy of being in the right place at the right time.

#1: When I was six I found a four leaf clover, and felt lucky as can be. Later that day we got a pet turtle, and of course named him “Clover.” He literally became our lucky turtle. Once we left him in our grass, and he disappeared for months. My sisters and I were convinced that without Clover the turtle we couldn’t be lucky anymore. A few months later, we found Clover outside our window sill, alive! It is one lucky turtle to survive being outdoors in the winter. We are lucky he was okay!

#2: My husband and I won our wedding at a bridal fair at La Caille!! My parents had very little money and had just paid for my sister's wedding a couple months beforehand. It was definitely miraculous/good fortune!
.
#3: I feel like every time I decide to slow down or put my phone down, I see a cop after! #solucky
.
#4: I don’t feel like I get lucky often, but finding our dream home in the midst of a pandemic when things didn’t feel as easy! We got through it and got to enjoy being locked up together as a family in such a dream spot of ours that we were once so worried wouldn’t ever be ours. It was a blessing that humbled us during this tough time!
.
#5: Today I was cleaning out my drawers and I found a $50 gift card to Target! And the best part is… it was from Kortni!!!
.
#6: I got to serve a mission for my church in New York City and it was my dream to see at least one of the celebrities that I obsess over. Well, one day we were headed up town on the subway and I saw Norman Reedus who plays Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead!!! I 100% kept my cool but I was fangirling hard on the inside. The best part was, he offered me his seat on the train. It was awesome!
.
#7: I was living in my Dad’s apartments and because I locked myself out so much, he trusted me with a key to all 12 apartments that I hid just outside the door. One day I locked myself out and it was GONE!! I was extremely stressed and wouldn’t tell my Dad because then 12+ tenants would have to know some rando stole the key…! Two years later, as I was moving out, I was decluttering my apartment and found a pair of shorts I forgot about. I wore them that weekend and the key was in the pocket! I was so happy and felt so lucky I had found them. I finally told my dad what happened and gave it back to him. He wasn’t pleased lol.
.
#8: Our daughter has 4 small holes in her heart, she is our first baby and if having her during a pandemic wasn’t enough, I had to go to important cardiology appointments by myself (I even got this news by myself!) My husband is in the military and this was the only year he would have been able to go to ultrasounds and appointments. BUT after so many prayers and so much support, at our daughters latest cardiology appointment, 2 of the holes had closed up on their own!!!!! Nothing short of a miracle❤️  We are living every day to the fullest and enjoying every moment together. Continue to look at the bright side and continuously be kind and enjoy others company. Not only will it make you feel better but it could change the world. ❤️

#9: I won a KJ Instagram giveaway! ❤️
.
#10: I was a big Twilight fan. ( I know, I know 🤣) I went to Barcelona and as I was on a tour bus having a lovely afternoon tour of the city. Shortly into the tour I saw a red carpet and a big crowd! I jumped off the bus to see what celebrity was there. 15 min later Rob Pattinson walks right up to me and starts signing autographs. It happened to be the premier of Water for Elephants! I have it all on video. It was so exciting!
.
#11: My husband passed away when I was 27. I Never thought my heart would be okay again. Fast forward to today and I’m married to my second Mr. Wonderful. (Who lets me grieve and love my first husband without ever questioning his place.) ❤️ #luckyinlove
.
#12: The night of my bachelorette party, I ran into Mila Kunis at the local Coney Island. While everyone in the restaurant was trying to get her to talk with them and take pictures, she walked up to me and was asking me about my upcoming wedding. We chatted a bit and she even took a picture with me. Super sweet and gorgeous in person!
.
#13: I grew up in foster care, but lived with various family members up until the age of 13, when I got sent to a group home, a very scary one that I never thought I’d leave. During my time living there my grandma died by suicide and, although she was one of the worst people I had lived with in my life, I decided to go to her memorial. It was there that I saw my aunt who had married my mom's brother, but they got divorced when I was little. She heard where I was living and what happened in the gap of those 6 years of not seeing each other. She immediately took action and ended up taking both my brother and I in, throughout our teen years so we didn’t have to live in group homes anymore. To this day I don’t think she knows how much she saved me.
.
#14: I won a free year of Swig when I won one of their gold tumblers! I felt very very lucky and am trying to win again for their current giveaway! #addicted
.
#15: I went to Kortni’s birthday event and won a free swimmer, a backpack, and some wetbags from all the games! I never win anything so I felt very lucky that day. It was amazing!
