#kortnismunchis always our favorite event of the year, because we get to go full Halloween and celebrate our favorite holiday with some of our amazing local friends! This year, we gathered as Disney Villains to enjoy a night of spooky food, music, and of course shopping for swimmers! Keep reading to hear how this party of the year all came together. You'll want to throw one of your own!
We have so much fun coming up with decorations for The Munch, and this year's theme did not disappoint! We fell in love withThe State House Venuewhen we hostedour 5th birthday partyand we knew that itwould be the perfect space for Kortni's Munch. You can completely transform it into anything you can dream up! They have ample space and the black ceiling and floor went along perfectly with our theme! We set up a graveyard, full of swimmers to shop, which of course we had to label with headstones and surround with bones, spiders, and flickering candles. A swarm of bats covered the wall leaving the graveyard and it was hard to believe they weren't real! The spooky trees made us feel like we really were in a haunted forest with fog surrounding us. As you came out of the forest, you'd find giant googly eyes covering the wall, staring into your soul as the sign warned, "enter if you dare." And of course, the set just wouldn't be complete without a life-size, talking witch who made us all jump!
Ursula and Hades made quite the couple! Kortni and Nico's costumes made us all laugh. The rest of the KJ team dressed up as skeletons to match the eerie ambiance. As our guests arrived we couldn't have imagined more creative ideas! Some of our favorites of the night included the evil step sisters from Cinderella, many unique yet terrifying Cruella De Vils, Scar, the Siamese Cats, and The Evil Queen with Captain Hook as her date and her newborn babe as the poison apple. It's just too much fun for us to still dress up as adults, and we'd even dare to say we go even crazier for Halloween now than ever!
53 Cateringoutdid themselves yet again! This spread was to die for (pun definitely intended)! Underneath the wall of eyes were drinksfull of eyeballs and brains, monster sliders, blood soup, bones + blood, werewolf immunity shots, bandaids, teeth, and poison apples. All of this, topped with a skeleton full of cotton candy, gummy worms, spiders, and eyeball cookies blew us away! Reading through these options was quite the experience, but don't be deceived. Everything was much more delicious than it sounded! Every little detail was perfection for a villainous party like this! Can you guess how they made all of these creative dishes?
We especially want to thank everyone who contributed to make this the best event of the year! These companies are pure gold and we have loved working with them! A huge thank you to:
