5 Ways to Start Your Day Right
One of the most magical things about mornings is that they are clean slates! Every single morning can be a fresh start from the messiness of yesterday, full of promise and possibilities. But the honest truth is this: when we hit snooze a few times or are woken up by our wonderfully rambunctious kiddos, our entire day feels a lot more groggy and unproductive. So we’re here to talk about you and how to start your day off right! You deserve to wake up refreshed and ready to go! Let’s look at 5 ways we can wake up on the right side of the bed! 
Water
Splash it on your face, take a warm shower (or cold, if you’re into that sort of thing), and be sure to drink plenty of water as soon as you wake up! Water literally is the best thing for a good day. Not only does it wake you up and help you feel clean, but it also helps with digestion and hydrates your body! If you don’t love the taste of water right in the morning, brush your teeth first or add fruit {like lemons or strawberries} to give it some flavor! Do what works for you, but be intentional about adding water to your morning routine. 
Make Your Bed
Little things can change your life, like making your bed! I know it seems trivial and not a big deal, but you will have accomplished the first task of the day. It’s a chain reaction! By the end of the day, that one task you completed will turn into many tasks completed. Plus, a tidy bed just naturally makes the rest of your room feel styled, even if it isn’t perfect. Doing so will lower stress and improve your mood. We’re telling you! There’s just something about a made bed that feels better at the end of a long day.
Move Your Body
Although we admire those who do, not all us have the desire to do HIIT or run 5 miles first thing in the morning. Luckily, there are lots of different ways to get your heart pumping without the pressure of “working out.” Whether it’s yoga, stretching, or going on a morning walk, find an enjoyable way to exercise your mind, breath, and release those endorphins! Doing so will help you feel good and prepare you for the busyness of your day.

Pamper Yourself
Instead of getting caught up in the whirlwind of waking up late and rushing to get ready, make a point to pamper yourself in the morning, even if you feel like there’s no time. Pampering may sound impossible, but we promise it’s not! Love yourself enough to eat a tasty breakfast, sit down to do makeup, or style your hair. Taking even a few minutes to treat yourself in the morning can really make all the difference for the rest of your day.

Aside from it being the alarm that you turn off, try not to use your phone for the first 30 minutes of your day. If you’re prone to checking your email or Instagram first thing, often while still in bed, you’re more likely to increase your stress levels and leave yourself feeling overwhelmed. Before you let external stimuli pull for your attention, give yourself time and space to start your day calmly. Use that 30 minutes you would have spent on your phone on other uplifting activities. Write in your journal, meditate, or make yourself an awesome breakfast. Do what makes you happy!
