Kortni Jeane Team Favorite Poolside Books

Posted on
We don't know about you, but every time we go to the pool or beach we can't go without a book and our Kortni Jeane swimmers of course! Nothing is better than soaking up the sun and getting lost in a heart throbbing, adventurous, amazing book! If you are in the market for a new book we're here to share some of our finds. We asked the girls in our Kortni Jeane office some of their recent favorite reads and from romance to self help, we are sure to have a lineup for every type of reader!
5 Love Languages
Lucero: The 5 love languages by Gary Chapman - This book is amazing for anyone to read! After getting married many people realize they actually don’t know how to love their spouse and that’s because they don’t know their love language. This book is a quick read that gives you a better understanding about how to love those around you!
Me After You
Alexis: Me After You by Jo Jo Moyes - (the second book to me before you and the movie) is the sequel book to the movie me before you! It’s about how Louisa learns to live her life without her one true love will who lost his life to his handicapped disease. It’s about true love and survival and it brings laughs and tears!
Divergent Series
Lara: Divergent Series by Veronica Roth - I love how suspenseful it is, I couldn’t put it down! I love the plot twists and action the author incorporates into the series!
Edenbrooke
Rebecca: Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson-  If you are looking for a sweet romantic novel that is a fun and easy read, then put this book at the top of your must-read list! The story takes place in the Regency Era -think Jane Austen- and you will quickly get attached to both the main characters! Once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down!
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Taylor: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire By JK Rowling- I love all Harry Potter books but this one is my favorite! It’s always fun and exciting no matter how many times I read it!
Rising Strong
Katie: Rising Strong by Brene Brown - Brene Brown is known as an author writing all about vulnerability and conquering trials. I'm one of those girls that loves a good self help book. I love Rising Strong because if focuses on when you are at rock bottom, and how to actually move up from it. It touches on building relationships, overcoming adversity, and even getting over heartbreak, which we all have to deal with at one time or another. This is a great read for when you need a little inspirations and a bit of guidance in you life!
Dear John
Abbie: Dear John by Nicholas Sparks-  I know what you’re thinking “oh she’s one of those girls” and yes, yes I am. I love Nicholas sparks and how he shows falling in love and staying in love even during trials. This book is beautiful and makes me want to drop all responsibilities, move to North Carolina and find a cute boy! Give it a read if you want to feel all the feels!
The Great Gatsby
Pari: The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald - By being set in the 1920's, it fascinates me to begin with, I love the prohibition era. The main character is battling status, wealth and his past. I think everyone can relate to battling their past, so even if you can't relate to the status and wealth battle you can still relate to the main character. There is a love story, but I think the thing I like most about it is that it is so descriptive you can imagine it in your head.
Tuesday with morrie By Mitch Albom
Lynley: Tuesday’s with Morrie by Mitch Albom- This book was one of those mandatory books I had to read for my AP Lit class senior year and it ended up changing my life! It talks about the important of sucking the marrow out of life and embracing all of the human experience whether good or bad, happy or sad. Definitely would recommend!!
Pride and Prejudice
Kallee: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen- I love the story and I love the movie too! I read it for a book report in high school and I’ve been obsessed ever since. It’s a classic love story! Jane Austen is a literary genius!
Little Women
Gaby: Little Women by Louisa May Alcott - This is my all time favorite book! It’s a long one, but it is chock full of so many good life lessons. I grew up in a house of four girls, so not only can I relate each of my sisters to each of the March sisters, but I can relate myself to each of them as well. I cannot recommend more highly!
